Meteor Grav Tank TL11
The Meteor is intended as a general purpose grav tank, and is built
under license on several TL11 worlds in the Spinward Marches. The major
problem of the class is the large fuel capacity. Had a smaller fuel capacity
been selected, the hull could have been made smaller for the same weight.

Balladeer Light Air Raft Emergency Conversion TL11
When the planet Nasemin (Spinward Marches/Aramis 3003) was invaded in
1118 by Vargr corsairs intent on setting up a base rather than plundering, the
planetary militia was quickly overwhelmed. In a desperate attempt to provide
air support for a guerilla counterattack on the starport, Colonel Nolan Arme-
nax scraped together a squadron of fourteen Balladeers from local air raft
dealers and armed them with his limited supply of Pronghorn drone missiles
salvaged from a destroyed defense installation. Defending Vargr pilots were
initially surprised by the use of these civilian craft still in their colorful
showroom paint schemes, and two combat pinnaces were destroyed before the
Vargr were able to respond. All fourteen Balladeers were lost, but the cor-
sairs abandoned their downside base rather than face the anticipated level of
guerilla activity.

Notes: One seat was ripped out and an additional control unit to fire the
missiles was added. Six launch rails were attached to the stub
wings, and the speed was reduced as a result of the drag. The
cargo compartment was left empty to compensate for the weight of
the missiles. The missiles had no oxygen tanks and could not
reach orbit, but were adequate for short range atmospheric combat.

Tiremese Mule TL11
The Mule is a common vehicle on Tirem, a high population planet with a
corrosive atmosphere. The heavy armor is necessary for the vehicle to resist
the long term, effects of atmospheric exposure, and the rather expensive
extended life support capability is mandated by most local governments on the
planet, to ensure that passengers will be safe if an emergency vehicle is
delayed in responding to a breakdown. The inherent redundancy of the multiple
fuel cell power plant is another safety feature. Power plant duration in-
cludes the need to supply oxygen as well as hydrogen to the fuel cells.

The Bumblebee is a light air raft intended for use on planets where
hydrocarbon fuels are inexpensive and readily obtainable. In such situations

The Balladeer is a fast light air raft intended for use by individuals.

Sword Worlds Majestic Class Heavy Cruiser TL11
The Majestic class heavy cruiser is a standard Sword Worlds design,
although very similar vessels can be found serving in Imperial and Vargr
navies of equal tech level. Equipped with a fuel purifier, a squadron of up
to 30 forty ton landers or fighters, and a company of marines, the Majestic
is capable of independent operations, and is frequently found as a flagship
for a squadron of smaller craft. Normal operating power is approximately 50%
of the full power capacity, and the endurance given below is for non-combat
operations. Each hour at combat power uses fuel for two hours at non-combat
power. Cost of auxiliary craft is not included below.

The Sprite is a derivative of the Nymph fighter class. It is intended
to carry a full squad of infantry and their carrier vehicle, plus a reasona-

tional fuel tankage could easily be installed in the cargo bay to extend

The Vigilant class SDBs were built by a consortium of independent gov-

avoid the necessity of missile resupply operations during a major invasion of

Tiremese Termagant class Fighter TL11
The Termagant is a long endurance light fighter built by a consortium of
the independent governments of Tirem. It can be operated by a single crew-
member, but usually carries two on routine long duration patrol missions.
This requires double occupancy of the accommodations, and results in a high
sociability rating being advantageous for selection to Tirem's fighter serv-
ice. With no requirement to provided an atmospheric combat capability, the
designers elected to avoid streamlining in favor of ease of construction.
Termagant flyers usually call their craft "Uglies". Use of this nickname by
the non-Termagant community is not tolerated.

tech systems in secure areas prior to the Rebellion. No weapons are in-

for ease of construction. Thrusters provide a reasonable deepspace accelera-

the fully loaded craft from a size 8 planet. Planetary landings while empty,
for crew vacations, passenger loading or maintenance are possible.

SIE Athelstan Class Merchant TL11
The Athelstan class merchant ships are presently being built by SIE at
their corporate facilities at Grote. The unsettled situation in the Imperium
has left SIE unable to procure ships from their usual suppliers at Glisten.

built in frontier areas with an integral refueling capability, a maneuver
drive capable of making a landing while fully loaded on any inhabitable
planet, and a full armament package.
Unlike many other SIE vessels, the Athelstan does not ordinarily carry a
robotic crew supplement since the supply of cheap robots has also dried up.

Launch TL11
This standard design launch is produced throughout the Imperium, pri-
marily as an auxiliary for cargo ships requiring some self-contained shuttle
capability for use at ports where the ship is not able to land. As such, it
is not optimized for atmospheric travel. No weapons capability is provided.
Endurance is limited to four days as long duration missions are not antici-
pated.

River class Merchant (Type R) TL11
The River class merchant conforms to the basic Imperial Type R standards
with no enhancements. Designed to be produced and maintained by worlds of
average technology, it is not really suited to the difficult conditions
imposed by our current political difficulties. The base model, as shown
below, is produced with no fuel purification plant and no weapons package.
Either can be installed (and often both are), but at a cost in cargo space.
The control system is sufficient to allow up to MCr9 of weapons to be in-
stalled. The minimal thruster installation does not permit takeoffs or land-
ings on most inhabitable planets while the ship is fully loaded. As a re-
sult, a launch is carried to provide some limited integral shuttle capabili-
ty. When sufficient cargo has been offloaded by the launch, the ship may
land. Frugal captains usually run the ship with the launch's cargo bay
loaded if possible, which adds an additional 200kl of cargo capacity.

Type A2 Far Trader TL11
This standard Type A2 Far Trader can be produced on any TL11 planet from
readily available data packages. The model shown below has been provided
with a "triple threat" turret (one laser, one missile rack, one sandcaster),
and control provisions for further armament have not been made. No dedicated
missile storage magazine has been provided. The minimal thruster package
does not allow landing on most worlds while fully loaded. Assuming that a
minimum drive of 0.25G above lift requirements was desired, a total load of
355 mass tons (including fuel) can be lifted from a standard 1-G planet.
