Can't possibly be right; if the First Imperium lasted only 1200
years from the fall of Rome on Terra, that means that the Terran
Confederation beat them in an interstellar war in about 1676 CE -
about three hundred years before Terra put its first man in space,
and at least four hundred years before Terrans discovered the Jump
Drive.
