I'm taking as "official" anything published by GDW or a GDW
licensed source, for Traveller, Megatraveller, and TNE. Below are
all of the races, major and minor, that I can remember
encountering in sources official by the above definition. If you
have any questions about any of them, post or email, and I'll try
to get some specifics. This list'll just be the names.
Vilani Solomani Aslan Hivers
Droyne Zhodani Vargr Dynchia
Ael Yael Bwabs Darrians Virushi
K'kree Sabmiqys Dolphins* Orcas*
Schalli* Cymbeline Chiplife*
The four starred names are races that I don't recall seeing in
pre-TNE stuff, but in order for them to be in the state of
development described in TNE materials, they would have had to be
extant in the Traveller (classic - black books) era, The
Cymbeline Chiplife may have become extinct during the War of
Collapse (I prefer this to "Final War", which was also used for
the last of the Grandfather wars, which meant the "end" of the
Ancients), except in the form of pre-Collapse Deyo transponders
and post-Collapse Virus.
