I have been a long time advocate of changing the rules if they do not suit you. That is one of the great things about role playing games. I have read posts from people that say how bad they think TNE is, and that they have used the rules and thrown out the background. That is perfectly O.K. I happen to like the background of TNE and will use it as I used MegaTraveller. Sometimes people need a change, and although I miss Classic Traveller, I welcome the New Era with open arms.
